I know I know… I haven’t been around in foreverrrrr and I’m sorry. Things have been pretty darn hectic. I’m heading to Rome tomorrow for 2 weeks because I need a break from Poland! For those of you who are mad at me for not writing anything lately, you can read my twitter. It’s not as exciting but at least you can keep track of what I’m up to. It’s the best I can do for now! Much love.
Buziakiiiii!!! (Kisses)
Aspiring English speakers in Japan have made President Barack Obama’s book of speeches and accompanying CD a national best-seller.
In Aichi, central Japan, a Buddhist monk has reportedly been playing the president’s speeches during his temple service. And dozens of students in an English-language class in Tokyo have been memorizing his 2004 Democratic Convention speech to improve their understanding and pronunciation.

I want this! But in the future when I have a real bathroom… not one in which this would just blend with the rest of the mold growing in there.
You’re just going to have to accept me not writing anything Poland-related for awhile because it’s nearing the end of the semester here and I have papers to write and a Polish language exam to study for and friends I have just made are already leaving and I’m stressed out over whether or not I’ll even have a thesis adviser next year, which would result in me having to leave and I really don’t want that, etc etc etc! So just deal… I’ll be back in a few weeks.
Politics is sexy again! (via 5500)
“Sometimes, when we’re lying together, I look at her and I feel dizzy with the realization that here is another distinct person from me, who has memories, origins, thoughts, feelings that are different from my own. That tension between familiarity and mystery meshes something strong between us. Even if one builds a life together based on trust, attentiveness and mutual support, I think that’s it’s important that a partner continues to surprise.”
- Barack Obama, in 1996, about wife Michelle
Just cuz I’m a sucker for this shit. In real life I’m kind of glad I’m not living in America right now because I’d be scared out of my mind.
DEAR CHICAGOANS:
My roommate Christina (you know her! sort of!) and our friends Mikala and Rachel have morphed into an unholy trinity in the form of CLAMOUR. They will be featured in this year’s CHICAGO SKETCH COMEDY FESTIVAL, which runs from January 8 to January 18. Their show is on SUNDAY, JANUARY 18 at 5:30PM.
I highly encourage all of you to check out this show. (Go ahead: search for mentions of Christina on this very blog. THAT’S ONLY A THIRD OF THE HILARITY YOU WILL GET OUT OF CLAMOUR.) I will be there, if you want to stalk. (I’m open to stalkers! Stalked in 2K9!)
ALSO: IN ONE WEEK Clamour will have a preview show at THE PLAYGROUND. You better believe I will be attending, and I hope you can, too. (CHICAGO TUMBLR GAYS - YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE - THIS IS IN YOUR ‘HOOD AND YOU HAVE LITTLE EXCUSE.)

I know this is kind of irrelevant since I live in Poland but I just wanted to say how proud I am of my Christina! I believe she looks, by far, the fiercest in this photo. And seriously, those are some kickass tipsies!
